Why is media reform so important right now?
We think the UK government should be properly held to account for its handling of the Covid 19 crisis, and for the promotion of media narratives which create division and culture wars.
However, the media landscape is dominated by tech giants and right-wing media corporations. The BBC is also under constant political attack and has had its revenue cut by over 30% since 2010.
The launch of GB News and Talk TV has made the situation even more unbalanced.
But we believe it IS POSSIBLE to reimagine the media as a real cornerstone of democracy, by building a broad coalition for media reform.
